After finishing the Cereal brief, we then need to do a finally project for this semester, which is to create a a design for a wrapping paper: The brief is to design a based pattern targeted at small retailers who only want small quantities of paper, like gift shops and florists.
The whole idea it make a wrapping paper with minimum of two colours, water based inks, howe
ver not gold or silver due to the cost of the materials. It has to look simple but professional to the audience. The material is 25gms paper on a roll- appro
ximately 60cm width and it has to be a repeatable pattern.
Again, with the help of Jak as a partner in the group of two, agreed that this briefs looks very interesting and funny to do, and come up with some idea onto paper then looking into existing wrapping papers, to see what other designer has created and what type of paper they printed the patterns on, as this will gives us ideas, then onto the computer to play around with
photoshops, to create an interesting and different sort of patterns, as this is the easy way to understand the meaning of pattern and it quick and easy to find information and inspiration.
We looked at anything that does with wallpaper patterns as they are the closest thing to pattern in the industries: the things that we looked are building, clothes animals, wrapping paper etc. We also looked at a artist who is famous for wallpaper patterns and that person is William Morris. There was also another person M.C.Escher. We also done research by looking at website with wallpaper/patterns.

After doing the research, we had a good understanding of what kind of thing, we are aiming for. The next thing is to load up Photoshop and start playing around with the pattern tool and get some ideas onto screen. We came up with 4-5 examples of the various designs but then after some experimentation we were able to develop something we both like.
